Integrated Fire Starter
The included Swedish FireSteel fire starter, with up to 3,000 strikes, twist-locks securely into the handle of the Swedish FireKnife and is conveniently accessible when you need it.
The back of the Swedish FireKnife blade (spine) has been ground especially for use with a fire starter. You can easily ignite a fire with the fire starter to create sparks that can easily light dry grass, leaves, tinder and even your barbecue grill.
The Swedish FireKnife blade has a special profile-ground tip that allows it to carve thin slices and perform the most delicate camp food preparation all while being robust enough for the toughest camp chores.
Made of hardened stainless steel Sandvik 12C27 (HRC 56-58) for extreme strength, long life, as well as a high resistance to moisture without rusting. Stainless steel stays sharp much longer than carbon steel and is far less sensitive to rust. To further avoid corrosion, clean the blade regularly.
By pulling the specially ground spine of the Swedish FireKnife slowly and forcefully down against the included fire starter, you can easily light dry grass, leaves, paper, bark and even your favorite gas grill or stove.
Easily carve some fresh tinder that will assist with fire starting or create a feather stick that is essential when starting a fire with damp wood or without tinder.
The Swedish FireKnife will allow you to precisely prep tinder, create feather sticks, carve shelter stakes, cut small tree limbs, and process wood for various uses like creating camp tools.
The profile-grounded tip of the blade carves thin slices and performs the most delicate camp food preparation.
